We recently revisited a home in Bothwell where the existing boiler was significantly oversized for the property's needs. Many people don't realise that a boiler with too much power for the number of radiators and hot water demand is actually less efficient—it 'short cycles,' turning on and off constantly, which wastes gas and wears out components faster.
After calculating the property's requirements, we advised a move to the Worcester Bosch Greenstar 1000 24kW. It’s a fantastic, compact boiler that delivers exactly the right amount of power for this home. To give the customer even better control over their energy usage, we also installed a Salus programmable room thermostat. This allows for much more precise scheduling and ensures the boiler only fires up exactly when needed
